Meeting with a Client Care Specialist
A Client Care Specialist will meet with you to gather more information, assess if your case is within our expertise, if we have capacity, or if there are any conflicts of interest. If we can help, we’ll request documents to verify your identity as required by law, and once they are received, we’ll schedule your free initial consultation with a family lawyer.

By this stage, we will already have information about your situation from the earlier steps. A qualified family lawyer in NZ will then answer your questions and explain how we can assist in resolving your family law matter. No obligations — just clear, professional advice. If further work is required, we’ll discuss the best pricing option for you, whether that’s a fixed fee package, a quote, or our hourly rate.

Getting to Work
We’ll start working on your case and keep you updated through our client portal, or via emails, phone calls, or video calls. If you’re applying for legal aid for a family law case, we may need to wait until your application is approved before proceeding with any work.
Additional Work
If work arises beyond the scope of your fixed fee package or quote, or after its expiry, we’ll agree on how any further work will be charged before proceeding. This could be at our hourly rate, through a new fixed fee package, or with a fresh quote. For legal aid clients, any additional work will be billed according to the Ministry’s legal aid guidelines.
