At Fixed, you can purchase a fixed fee package for agreed legal tasks, with the package lasting up to 7 weeks or until the agreed tasks are completed — whichever comes first. You pay one fixed fee, no matter how much time we spend working on the agreed tasks during the 7 week period.

We know family law issues can arise unexpectedly—“split happens.” That’s why we offer flexible payment plans, allowing you to pay in instalments with no extra fees if paid on time. This makes legal costs more manageable without needing full payment of the entire package cost upfront.

Section 21A Separation Agreement Starter Package
Communications, Advice & Negotiations Included: While your package is active, it covers all communications, advice, and negotiations related to your Section 21A Agreement provided remotely via our client portal, or provided by video call, phone, email, or text. In-person work, as explained in our Terms of Engagement, is not included within the package cost. If in-person work is needed, such as for an in-person mediation, we’ll discuss the cost, which will be charged in addition to the package cost.
What we’ll aim to do: We’ll begin by gathering relevant information and documents. After reviewing them, we’ll provide personalised advice on your rights under the Property (Relationships) Act 1976 and guidance on achieving a fair division. We’ll address your relationship property queries and, once you decide how to proceed, draft your Section 21A Separation Agreement based on your instructions. After your approval, we’ll send the draft to the other party or their lawyer and commence negotiations, aiming to finalise and sign the Section 21A Agreement to resolve the matter.
Duration of package: The package remains active until either the Section 21A Agreement is signed or 7 weeks after the package is purchased, whichever occurs first.
Additional Fees, Disbursements or Costs: While we aim to complete your matter within the package timeframe, factors outside our control, such as the other party’s response, may limit our ability to do this. In more complex or contentious cases, you will instead be referred to an experienced accounting professional to conduct this analysis, with that cost being additional to the package cost. Conducting an analysis of income and expenses is essential to provide you with accurate advice, and for comprehensive spousal maintenance negotiation. Once we complete or receive the analysis, we will advise you on spousal maintenance options under the Family Proceedings Act 1980. We will then negotiate spousal maintenance with the other party or their lawyer, aiming to finalise an agreement to resolve the matter, or defend against a claim, whichever is applicable.
